I am finally getting around to writing Case's birth story.
He's 5 months old. Let's just say life with 3 can get a bit hectic.
I had a great pregnancy with very little problems. I did have to repeat the glucose test, but other than that it was a breeze.
At my weekly visits my stats were:
36 weeks- 3cm dilated 70% effaced
37 weeks- 3 almost 4cm dilated 70% effaced
38 weeks- 3cm dilated 80% effaced
At my 38 week visit my Dr was gone so I had to see someone else in the office. Because it was my 3rd baby he said that I could chose to be induced at 39 weeks. I said heck ya! and we set up the induction for the following Tuesday. I was a little nervous because both my previous babies had come on their own and the labors went pretty smooth.
I had to be seen the Monday before the induction just to check things. My regular Dr came in and said she had to go out of town so we had to change the induction to Thursday instead. I was a little bummed but felt good about giving the baby a couple more days to cook.
On Tuesday night at about 9:40 my phone started to ring. The call was from the hospital. They said they had an opening and wondered if I wanted to come in at 2am. Cody had just gone to bed so I woke him up and asked if he was ready to go have this baby. I got really nervous but we decided to try to get a couple hours of sleep before we headed to mesquite to drop of the kids at my parents house then head up to the hospital. Ya right! I tried to lay down but I was too nervous. I decided to take a nice bath and do my make-up instead.
We got to the hospital at 2am and they got everything ready to go. As they got me hooked up they asked if I was feeling the small contractions I was having on my own. They started me on a low dose of pitocin. I started to get a tad bit uncomfortable so I got the epidural. It wasn't as strong of one as my other two. Which did come in handy when he came time to push and I could actually feel pressure.
My Dr came in around 6:30 and broke my water. Not too much longer I started to feel a lot of pressure. I called a nurse to come in and she checked me. I was 8cm dilated. She left and a few more minutes later I was feeling more pressure so I called the nurse back in. She checked me again and I was a 10 and baby was right there. I started to freak out a bit. My Dr was in a surgery and would be there asap. The nurses wouldn't even prep me for delivery because if they got my legs up in the stirrups the baby would be here. As soon as my doc came in we prepped, had a couple pushes, and had a baby.
Case Samuel was born at 8:07 am weighing 7.5 pounds and was 20 inches long.
He was such a sweetie already and took to breastfeeding great.
My post labor pains were completely terrible and I may of been begging the nurses for more pain meds. Other than that my recovery was good.
Crue and Jessie and my family came to meet the baby and they loved him instantly.
We're so glad he chose to be apart of our family.
